CCM
- Stands for Catalyst Coated Membrane.
- Three-layer structure: A finished CCM consists of the central membrane and the anode catalyst layer on one side and the cathode catalyst layer on the other.
- Coating: There are different coating processes for applying the electrode layers to the membrane. Either the tinne (mixture of catalyst, ionomer, and solvent) is applied directly to the membrane, e.g., using screen printing, slot die printing, or inkjet printing, or indirectly via decal transfer printing.
- Heart of the cell: The CCM is the key component for the efficiency, performance, and service life of the system under a wide range of operating conditions.
