Redox Flow Battery
A redox flow battery is an electrochemical energy storage device that stores electrical energy in liquid electrolytes stored in external tanks. For charging and discharging, these electrolyte solutions are pumped through a galvanic cell (the stack), where ion exchange takes place via a selective membrane. Its main technical advantage is the complete decoupling of power (determined by the stack size) and capacity (determined by the tank volume).
